So you're pregnant, or planning on pregnancy.
Congratulations!!!!
Do you plan on doing any reading? (you should!)
Are you at a loss of where to start?
Well have no fear! A very smart and informed woman has put together her list of 'what not to read' and then 3 alternatives for each book.
She has also broken down her recommendations into 3 categories: those who are just the average person possibly looking for information, those who are looking into their options, but don't know what they want yet, and then those who have done their research, know what they want and are looking for more information.

I feel this is a great list that i feel comfortable sharing (i have either heard great things about her recommendations, or i have read them myself).
Do you have any book recommendations for those who are pregnant? Have you read any on this list and if so, what did you think?

She couldn't possibly be more dead-on with What to Expect. Oh my goodness, that book is one big scare tactic bound up in a pretty bow that makes women think they're not prepared if they haven't read it. Sickening.
I HATE What to Expect, it's a load of drivel. My recommendation is "Our Babies, Ourselves" by Meredith Small. Fabulous book for those that rely a lot on science, for those not exactly in touch with their instincts (coughMEcough).
I read some book on the Bradley method of childbirth, and Ricky Lake's Your Best Birth (also watched the movie Business of Being Born). I thought they were both good. I also had a few I got from the library and didn't read past the first few pages...can't remember what they were though.
For breastfeeding, my favorite book is "So That's What They're For" by Janet Tomaro.
Hi! You commented on my modesty and breastfeeding post today- I was just coming to say you can quote from it and link to it, but not copy the whole thing over. I hope that's okay. I also have other posts about breastfeeding at church and different ways I've used layers (and not!). Thanks for liking my post!
Thanks for your suggestions ladies! And Kitt, i love your explanation of WTEWYE, it's right on! LOL
